I have finally moved the blog over to the blog directory. In reality I renamed it blog. Changed all the settings including the .htaccess file to reflect the change and everything works fine. Changed the re-direct that used to go from /blog/ -> /serendipity/ to /serendipity/ -> /blog/ and everything looks great.
This will allow the 1 person who has a link to me to keep it. I think those trackbacks are now fubar though.
Glad I did this before I grow.
